Communicating effectively is vital to the success of any relationship and we've all had that experience when you start venting to someone and they start providing solutions.
We end up irritated and the whole exchange goes belly up.
Well, here's something to consider next time you're in conversation (sharing or listening).
Ask yourself, or the other person "do you want to be helped, heard or hugged?
Another way to think about it -
Would I like to just "vent" about this situation?
Would I like some help in figuring out how to problem-solve and "fix" it?
Or do I just need some compassion and empathy?
